Privacy Policy
This policy covers cs2pov, the application that publishes the Pro POV CS2 YouTube channel and shares short clips of its videos on the channel's TikTok and Instagram accounts, and this website.
YouTube API Services
cs2pov uses YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Who uses it
cs2pov is a single-user tool: the only Google account it is authorized for is the one that owns the Pro POV CS2 channel. It is not offered to the public and does not access any other user's account.
What data it accesses and why
| Data | Use |
|---|---|
| The authorized channel's identity (id and title) | Confirm that videos go to the right channel. |
| Uploading videos, thumbnails, titles, descriptions and tags | Publish the channel's videos. |
| The channel's playlists | Add each video to its playlists. |
| View, like and comment counts of the channel's own videos | Learn which players, maps and sources the audience watches, to choose the next matches. |
Watch time, average view duration and percentage, likes, shares and subscribers gained of the
channel's own videos (YouTube Analytics API, read-only: yt-analytics.readonly) | Learn what the audience actually watches, to choose the next matches, and send the channel owner a weekly summary of how the channel's videos did. |
| Public search results and their view counts | Compute one number per pro player: how many views recent POV videos of that player get. |
cs2pov does not access private data of other users, does not read viewers' personal information, and does not use the data for advertising.
Storage, sharing and retention
- The OAuth token and all data are stored only on the channel owner's computer. There is no server and nothing is sent to third parties; the data is never sold or shared. The only place it goes is the channel owner's own private Discord channel, where cs2pov sends the owner its notifications and the weekly summary of the channel's statistics.
- Statistics of the channel's videos are refreshed daily. Public search results are reduced to one number per player and refreshed weekly. No data obtained from YouTube API Services is kept for more than 30 days without being refreshed, except the ids of the channel's own uploads.
- This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics. The Pro POV CS2 page (jparedesds.github.io/propovcs2) embeds the YouTube player (privacy-enhanced mode, youtube-nocookie.com), the Twitch player and the Kick player; those services may set their own cookies under the Google, Twitch and Kick privacy policies.
Revoking access and deleting data
Access can be revoked at any time from the Google security settings page. After revocation cs2pov stops working, and the channel owner deletes the data it stored from YouTube API Services (its data folder) within 7 days.
TikTok and Instagram
cs2pov also shares a vertical clip of each video on the channel's own TikTok and Instagram accounts. As with YouTube, it is authorized only by the channel owner, for the channel's own accounts, and accesses no one else's.
| Platform | Data | Use |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok (Login Kit, Content Posting API) | The account's basic profile (open id, display
name) and permission to upload videos (user.info.basic, video.upload) |
Confirm the account and send each clip to its TikTok inbox as a draft, which the owner reviews and posts in the TikTok app. |
| Buffer (Buffer API) | An API key of the channel owner's own Buffer account, with access to its account information and posts, and the ids of the TikTok and X channels connected there | Publish each clip on the channel's TikTok and X (Twitter) accounts through Buffer, which TikTok has approved to publish; on X, a reply under the clip links to the full video on YouTube. Buffer fetches the clip from the same temporary host used for Instagram (below) and posts it with its caption. The clip is the channel's own content; no personal data is included. See the Buffer Privacy Policy. |
| Instagram (Instagram Graph API) | The Facebook Page linked to the channel's Instagram professional account, the account's id and username, and permission to publish | Publish each clip as a Reel on the channel's account. So that Instagram can fetch the video, a copy of the clip is hosted for one hour on litterbox.catbox.moe, a temporary file host, which deletes it on its own. When that host is down, the same copy goes to uguu.se (deleted after three hours) or tmpfiles.org (deleted after one hour) instead. The clip is the channel's own content, published right afterwards; no personal data is included. |
- Their access tokens and the Buffer API key are stored only on the channel owner's computer, like the Google token. Nothing is read from followers or other users, and nothing is shared or sold.
- Access can be revoked from TikTok (Settings and privacy → Security → Apps and services permissions) and from Facebook (Settings → Business integrations). After revocation the owner deletes the stored tokens within 7 days.
- Use of these platforms is also subject to the TikTok Terms of Service, the TikTok Privacy Policy, the Instagram Terms of Use and the Meta Privacy Policy.
Google API Services User Data Policy
